The American Legion has a long - standing service to America’s Veterans and their children.
Once again, our organization has been presented with a challenge – a challenge to ensure that the children of our men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom since September 11, 2001 are afforded the opportunity to go to college. The American Legion is providing this support through The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund.
This scholarship is provided to the children, or legally adopted children, of active duty United States military, guard and reserve personnel who were federalized and died on active duty since 9/11. We do not want to turn any child away.
The American Legion Riders will conduct the Third Annual American Legion Legacy Run from Indianapolis to the National Convention in Phoenix – 1,800 miles – collecting contributions along the way.
New Hampshire has the challenge to support the 2008 “Legacy Run” by donating at least $1,800 – that is one dollar for every mile from Indianapolis, Indiana to Phoenix, Arizona.
I, respectfully, ask each post, unit, squadron and individual in the Department of New Hampshire to help in this endeavor. Please send your donation for The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund to the American Legion, Department of New Hampshire. No amount is too small!
Thank You,
John Neylon, National Executive Committee
