Post 54 Bedford April 2008 Newsletter

Dear Comrade:

The next Post meeting will be on Tuesday, April 1st, 7:30 PM, at the Bedford Public Library (McAllaster Room).

This is an important meeting; we will be electing officers for the coming year. The following nominations were made at the March meeting. Nominations will be reopened at the April meeting. Installation of the new officers will be done at our May meeting.

American Legion Baseball will return to Bedford this summer. The post is sponsoring a team in the Junior Division (ages 14 to 17). I am enclosing a schedule of the games; we plan to have a large presence at the opening game in Bedford so please plan on attending. Our thanks to Jim Blake for his work in making this happen.

The Department Junior Oratorical Contest will be held on Saturday April 5th at St Anselm's College. Start time is 9 AM.

The District Spring Conference will be on April 22 at Sweeney Post 2 in Manchester starting at 2 PM. At that time, the new District Commander will be elected. My name will be placed in nomination for this position, and I would appreciate as many of you as possible to attend.

The Bedford pre-Memorial Day parade will be on Sunday May 18th. For those who wish to participate but cannot march with us, Comrade Belanger will have a vintage military vehicle for you to ride in.
