The New Hampshire American Legion Junior Oratorical Contest

The state contest will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at St. Anslem College.

Doors open at 8:00 a.m. Contestants are asked to arrive between 8:15 and 8:30 for orientation.

ASSIGNED TOPICS:

For the year 2007-2008

ARTICLE 1 SECTION 3 CLAUSE 3

The Senate shall have the sole power to try all impeachments. When sitting for that purpose, they shall be on oath of affirmation. When the President

of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside, and no person shall be convicted without the concurrence of two thirds of the members present

ARTICLE 2 SECTION 4

The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason,

bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors.

AMENDMENT 14 SECTION 1

All persons born or naturalized in the U.S., and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the U.S. and of the state wherein they reside. No state

shall make or enforce any laws which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the U.S., nor shall any state deprive a person of life, liberty, or

property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal practice of the laws.
